This is a trip to summit Dean Peak, a peak with almost 1,500 feet of prominence in the Hualapai Mountains in Arizona. Given the heat expected, the elevation of this peak should help keep things relatively cool. I have not hiked this peak before, so this trip is exploratory. Total Distance: 9 miles round trip Total Elevation Gain: 3,000' Altitude: 5,160 - 8,013 Terrain Description: class 1-2 expected (about half will follow an old road) Approximate Hiking Time: 7 hours Please remember to answer the question after RSVPing.
