Terms of Service

Welcome to Adventure Frens. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

Adventure Frens is an outdoor adventure social platform where users can discover, create, and join adventures, connect with other users ("frens"), form groups, and communicate through messages.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Adventure Frens. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or sexually explicit
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Spam, solicit, or post commercial advertisements without permission
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the platform without our written consent
  • Create adventures with intentionally misleading locations, descriptions, or safety information
  • Interfere with the operation of the platform or circumvent security measures

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the content you post (adventures, comments, messages, profile information). By posting content on Adventure Frens, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content within the platform. We do not claim ownership of your content.

We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law. We are not obligated to monitor all content but reserve the right to do so.

6. Assumption of Risk for Outdoor Activities

Adventure Frens is a platform for coordinating outdoor activities. We do not organize, lead, supervise, or control any adventures posted by users.

Outdoor activities involve inherent risks including but not limited to injury, illness, property damage, encounters with wildlife, adverse weather, and getting lost. By participating in any adventure found on the platform, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with that activity.

You are solely responsible for assessing your own fitness, skill level, and equipment for any adventure. Adventure Frens does not verify the accuracy, safety, or suitability of any user-posted adventure.

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deleted accounts are soft-deleted (hidden from other users) and permanently purged after a retention period.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice, at our discretion.

8. Paid Plans and Subscriptions

Groups that involve financial transactions — including membership dues, event fees, ticket sales, or commercial activities — are required to maintain an active paid subscription plan.

We reserve the right to suspend or restrict groups that are operating commercially without an appropriate paid plan. We will make reasonable efforts to notify group owners before taking action and provide an opportunity to subscribe or reclassify their group.

Subscription pricing and features are subject to change. Any changes to pricing will not affect your current billing period and we will provide advance notice of material changes.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Adventure Frens and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, loss of data, or loss of revenue, arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the platform
  • Any adventure, activity, or interaction facilitated through the platform
  • Content posted by other users
  • Unauthorized access to your account or data

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Adventure Frens and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Adventure Frens after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
